Hal Frenck (April 29, 1930 - November 29, 2014) was born in Syracuse, NY. Frenck graduated from Eastwood High School, and then joined Syracuse University from where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts. Frenck was a commercial artist. He started his art career as an art director for several advertising agencies, B.B.D.O. in New York City, and two in Syracuse; Flack Advertising and Fellows Advertising. Frenck then continued his career as an illustrator for studios in Bala Cynwyd, PA, White Plains, NY, and Rochester, NY before becoming a painting instructor at the Famous Artists School in Westport, CT. He then decided to become a portrait and landscape painter and a free-lance illustrator. He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Frenck of Cherry Hill, NY; his parents, and his daughter, Leslie Anne Frenck of Milford, CT. After a successful career as an illustrator, Frenck devoted his life exclusively to oil painting. He was a member of the Portrait Society of America and also an accomplished portrait and figure painter and.
