Artist Jane Freeman graduated from the University of North Dakota. She got married and is now raising her two children. Her family has lived on a lake in northern Minnesota for more than 30 years and they can't imagine being any place else. They share their home with George, a cat who was rescued from a fire, Gracie and Miller who are also rescues. Millie is their newest rescue. He is a sweet freckled dog who is quickly winning their hearts. Jane says that everyday is an inspiration and a gift to her, even when the temperatures are tool low. She has a B.F.A. but had never worked in watercolors until 1989. Jane says being juried into a number of national and international shows has been exciting to her, but even more exciting for her is being published in Splash 9, Splash 7, Watercolor Magic, The American Artist Magazine, International Artist Magazine, and a book by International Artist Magazine titled "How Did You Paint That." The book is volume 2 of florals and still-life. Jane’s career has lent color, influence, and inspiration to her calling as an artist. Her art takes the viewer on a journey of pure inspiration, infused with a tranquil yet dramatic essence that guides the spirit into realms of new expansion. Framed Jane Freeman art are sold in large numbers because of their quality. She finds creative inspiration all around her: the color palettes of nature, in art museums and books, magazines, and art galleries. Her work has been described as a spontaneous blend of soft and harsh applications of paint coupled with slow and deliberate layers to create a contemporary urban feel.
