Dennis Frates’ love of the outdoors began at a very early age and led to a passion for photographing nature and landscapes, which he has done for more than 25 years. His images have won numerous awards and graced the pages and covers of Flyfishing, Arizona Highways, Sunset, Travel & Leisure, Petersen’s Photographic, National Audubon, National Gardening, Sierra Club, Sunset Magazine, National Geographic, and more. He has photographed extensively in the United States, finding unique fine art compositions in some of the most stunning locations in America. He currently devotes his full time efforts to producing fine art images that inspire and touch the hearts of audiences all over the U.S. Frates is the creator of stunning nature and scenic photographic posters, prints, and art. Frates’ photographs have brought emotion to art directors and their publication audiences all over the world. From the richness of nature, to landscapes to the changing seasons to scenic gardens; his posters, marvelous art, and prints include hillsides of verdant green rolling to the sea, lush meadows strewn with wildflowers, stark moonscapes that are studies of tone, mood and light. Rainbows color, fog, clouds, and the wind provide an atmosphere rich in emotional content. In college, he studied landscapes and ecology and received a master’s degree in these areas. His passion raged on for the natural world.
