Alfred Forns now focuses entirely on birds, but he’s slowly shifting to mammals. However, he still has to work for a living but spends every other minute enjoying his photography. He also does some workshops and one-on-one sessions which he says are very rewarding. Currently, his photo equipment is Canon and he has from fish-eye to 600 lenses: the 500 & 600 being the ones he mostly uses for bird photography. He’s had many different hobbies, but photography has been his only constant since the age of 10. Forns started with Lexica 3f, which he was given by his parents together with 2lenses - A 50 and 90. By then, he left he never needed any other thing, and after a slightly more than a year trying to learn loading the camera, he felt he was able to start making images. Soon he realized that they were not good images. He continued using Leicas until he got immersed in the digital age. He obtained some SLRs Nikon along with the range-finder at the start then he finally switched to Canon. Once he began working as a professional artist he won many awards including the State Championship many times and also came 2nd nationally. Initially, most of his SLR shooting was underwater in which he was able to publish in magazines, books and sell for stock to his clients. Most of his works are sold as framed Alfred Forns art which are the most popular with his clients and collectors. While doing the underwater work, his attention on land was turned to black-and-white medium and large format.
