Luigi Florio was born near Milan in northern Italy. He’s an artist whose work combines emotional content, observation, reinvention, technique, and exploration. He has been described as a modern figurative painter. His portrayal of his subjects and the use of vivid colors influenced heavily his style during his formative years. In the course of his work, he has built a name for himself as one of the best artists internationally. He would like the viewers to bring their own interpretations, impressions or reflections to the painting without being forced there directly. Florio holds a diploma in art from the Art Institute of Cantù. Later on he attended the Libera Art Academy, where studied under the guidance of Cino Balleri, the Italian master. His artistic influences come from the 19th century Italian art, passing up to French Impressionists through the “Macchiaioli” movement. He uses high quality materials in producing his work, especially the framed Luigi Florio art. His subjects range from the warm light of coastal Liguria to the northern Italy countryside, to splendid portraits of the most popular Italian cities like Venice, Florence and Rome, which have had extraordinary success worldwide. His saturated colors, subjects, and well-balanced compositions have popularized his art and now they are highly priced by many discerning collectors. His art can be seen adorning many prestigious spaces around the world including galleries, institutions, homes, museums, etc. Florio strives to keep his art fresh by being open to learning new styles, ideas and techniques and by travelling and reading widely.
