Jay Fleck Art

Jay Fleck likes clean vector work - smooth lines and shapes with touches of color and texture that make it look classic. He’s a Shorewood, Illinois-based illustrator and designer whose art is imaginative and bold, featuring animal pairings which are whimsical, fantasy playgrounds, beautiful compositions of shape and color, or just images of faraway lands. Fleck says that it's hugely gratifying that someone is willing to spend some cash on his work. This is the ultimate compliment. The artist has never come across someone wearing one of his designs but would probably force himself to say something even though he doesn't generally talk to strangers. He’d probably ask what compelled them to buy it. He’s inspired by old memories from childhood coupled with new experiences with his two young children. His works of art have been selected for print more than 20 times at Threadless.com. They have also been featured on the front page of Society6.com, on products at the GAP, FAB.com, along with many of other internet and brick and mortar stores. When he’s designing something he can do absolutely anything he wants and have complete creative freedom, as he mostly either posts to Society 6 or submits it to Threadless. He has done very little commissioned work. He thinks in a way he’s avoiding that as he’s worried about working under someone else's constraints.
