Kathy Ferguson lives and works in New York City. She’s mixed media artists whose paintings are unique and are very easy to recognize among the works by other artists. The artist is noted for her keenness to detail and for her exceptional ability to capture the lexis and activities of her subjects. She paints colorful abstract settings that are richly layered, whimsical, and complex. This talent has brought her art a worldwide following and earned her private commissions to do prints. Kathy uses combinations of organic and geometric shapes to create imaginary worlds using ink, collage paper and paint. Her colors are usually saturated and bold alluding to worlds that are less authentic than illusionary, places not commonly found in reality but in dreams. She believes that it is art that can bring people together as it is able to communicate to people better than any other medium. Kathy’s art is held in many collections including the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston, the Plaza Hotel in New York City, and the Belmond Grand Hotel Europe in Russia (St. Petersburg).
