Maria Donovan Art

Maria Donovan lived in Holland for many years but was brought up in Bridport, Dorset. From her childhood, she knew that she would become an artist. And she spent most of her free time doing artwork. Maria could paint and draw on any surface she would find. She was lucky to spend her childhood surrounded by many art-loving people who noticed her talent and encouraged her to pursue her interest in art. Maria brings many innovative and textured mediums to blend with her great sense of light, spacing, and color. She has also worked as a magician's assistant, gardener and nurse, but she’s now a lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Glamorgan, where she recently completed her Masters Degree in Writing. Maria is an accomplished writer as well, her short stories have appeared in the Honno anthology My Cheating Heart, the New Welsh Review and Mslexia. “Tea for Mr. Dead,” a collection of her short stories was published in 2006, and is available from Leaf Books. A year later, her first collection of longer stories was published by Seren. Maria also writes non-fiction. Her work can be found in several institutions and in thousands of private and corporate collections. Maria’s work has been published as greeting cards, as fine art prints, and as posters. This has made her to produce stunning artwork in a variety of finishing options including ready to hang framed Maria Donovan art. Her talent coupled with her passion has allowed her to obtain the unique look on her artwork.
