Ron Di Scenza (Born in 1954) was born in Ohio. His mother took him to Rome where he was convinced by Buonarroti Michelangelo's Sistine Ceiling then and there to become a painter. Di Scenza remembers the many ideal summers he spent in Italy where he was surrounded by his cousins, sister, and a natural and vibrant landscape. in 1970 he was back home in America, and he decided to move with his family to Long Island and settle there, and soon he became exposed to the New York City’s exciting art scene. Di Scenza attended the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan where he got his formal art training. Due to dedication, performance and quality of work, he was awarded a scholarship and he earned his Bachelor degree in Fine Arts degree. After his graduation, he became the youngest instructor at the school. He was 20 years old then and he simultaneously embarked on a carrier in illustration. This career lasted for 20 years. He expresses his deep understanding of human nature in the body language and faces of his images, much like Diego Velasquez, the Spanish painter, and his ability to report life as it is reflects the works of John Singer Sergeant, the American painter. Thinking from a larger perspective, he believes that today people need something to believe in, something they can recognize. Today, framed Ron Di Scenza art are a common sight in many galleries, homes and institutions around the world, more so in Italy and in the U.S.
