Michael Defrancesco Art

Michael Defrancesco works with Painting and Drawing techniques derived from his study of many masters old and new. Defrancesco has taught Oil Painting, Architectural Rendering, Life Drawing and Illustration at Columbia College of Chicago, The Harrington Institute of Interior Design, and Ray College of Design, currently The Illinois Institute of Art. He received his degree in Fine Arts from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. During his days at the Academy, Defrancesco was fortunate to have studied under some leading instructors such as Vern Stake, Bill Parks, Fred Berger and Eugene Hall. He was awarded the Robert Allerton Scholarship and went ahead to the University of Illinois in Monticello from where he received a diploma. His art is a culmination of all that he has drawn, painted and learned over the years. The artist has taught illustration, oil painting, and life drawing at many leading schools including The Harrington Institute of Interior Design, Columbia College of Chicago, and the Illinois Institute of Art. He mostly paints what he loves and wants. What he loves to paint are Horror, Fantasy, Classic Rock, Pop Surealism and Syfi themes. He has worked in Anaheim, California as a portrait artist for Walt Disney Productions, and has done both in-house illustration and freelance work for a wide variety of companies, including The Boitsov Ballet of Chicago and the Combined Insurance Company of America. Framed Michael Defrancesco art continue to cause a lot of excitement among collectors and art students. His work is a synthesis of all his experiences as an artist.
