Dee Dee Art

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dee Dee has achieved many regional and national awards with her art. She received an award for the Best of Show at the Puyallup Art Show which attracted more than 1000 entries. She also received the Artist of the Year award from the Washington State Ducks Limited. Dee Dee became first in the Artist’s Magazine national competitor where there were more than 1600 entries. She also appeared in top 20 at a highly competitive show known as the Federal Duck Stamp competition. She has participated and received awards in many other shows. Her main interest in art subjects are horses, wildlife, dogs and but she paints other subjects as well including abstract figures. She paints from observation and has keen eyes for detail. Her love for animals shows through in all her artwork where she strives to capture the essence and personality of the animals she is paints. She also pays close attention small details to ensure that she gets correct presentation and anatomy. She has a full schedule of commissioned pet portraits, of dogs, horses, cats and other animals. Dee Dee works mainly on smooth surfaces such as hot press watercolor paper or gessobord, as it lends itself well to the level of detail she aims to achieve. She prefers to work in graphite and acrylic. She made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for Equestrian Marathon. What inspire her most when coming up with an idea for painting are animals, especially horses in beautiful backgrounds, and moments in time when all of the elements coincidentally come together to create a beautiful scene. Dee Dee wants to make her scenes real so as to make her viewers feel they have actually been at the scenes. She has refined her artistic stills over the years, seeing many art dealerships stock framed Dee Dee art that are fully finished and ready for dispatch to customers.
