Melissa Dawn Art

Melissa Dawn (born 1983) was born in Northern California. She never knew that one day she would become an artist though she always enjoyed beading and crafting at a young age. After graduating from college in 2006, she discovered a fairy art at a local county fair and fell in love with art instantly. She felt that she had lost a lot of time and decided to dedicate up to 14 hours daily just painting while at the same time studying for her Master's Degree in Library Science. She worked hard so that by the time she was ready to graduate, she had already begun selling her artwork and jewelry. Melissa liked painting angel cats, angels and fairies so in 2007, she opened her art business under the name Spellbound Wings. She realized that she was selling more of the angel cats than any of her paintings so she decided to paint more of them. Gradually the angel cats took over until she was painting them almost exclusively. In 2010, Melissa and her husband Tim decided to change the name of her business to Melissa Dawn Art. Melissa is currently an internationally-licensed artist with thousands of fans all over the world. She has sold to all the 50 states in the US and to over 20 countries. She has created a wide range of gifts, jewelry and accessories that feature the cats. All her items are lovingly created in her studio and are handcrafted with the greatest care. Framed Melissa Dawn art are very popular with both private and corporate collectors and can be found in many institutions and galleries throughout the world.
