David Coolidge was born and raised in the Midwest but he resided in the Philadelphia area for 2 decades; and is a graduate of Drake University. He’s had more than 50 one-man exhibitions ad several group exhibitions. His continuing interest on the lush foliage and colorful, bright images that watercolor creates, inspires him. Coolidge loved art from a tender age and knew that his career would be in the arts industry. He focused his energy in achieving this dream and today he is one of the leading watercolorists in America. Extensive travel is evident in his paintings and he has made many connections with clients from all over the world. Coolidge is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists, the American Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, the San Diego Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, and the Academy of Golf Art. He paints watercolor scenes from Monet's Garden in France to Shiloh, Tennessee to the Cotswolds in England. He studied in Rome, Italy, and attended The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, but he quotes his apprenticeship with Falter John as the high point of his art training. John is a well-known illustrator of covers for the Saturday Evening Post. Currently, he has a piece of art which made him win a High Winds medal. This piece was included in the American Watercolor Society’s Traveling Exhibition of the year 2008. His exhibitions have been very successful and he has received many positive feedbacks.
