Chris Consani (Born 1951) is a painter and illustrator who was born in Ottawa, Canada. He holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with honors in illustration, having studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. After completing college, Consani went into freelance work for 18 years, the period within which he worked with numerous companies, including MCA Records, Miller Brewing Company, Delta Airlines, and Disney Video. Throughout the 18 years that he was working as a freelance artist, he didn't quite register success and would also do so in 2006 when he landed a job with DNA Productions as the Art Director for film called The Ant Bully.
The film became so successful that Rhythm and Hues hired him to direct the visual special effects and character design for several other films such as Hop, Chipmunks, and Alvin. He also illustrated several Mighty Mouse drawings for Nickelodeon animated film. Consani has also created conceptual art, including sketches of The Dryad for The Lion and more. Several of his design works have been featured in a number of films, including Anna and the King, Dr. Doolittle, and more. His artistic works have also appeared in different settings, including the Library of Congress and the Society of Illustrators, and have also been exhibited widely across the U.S. He passes as the only artist authorized to paint Elvis Presley in a group setting.
