Previously Charles Crust devoted much of his energies toward aerospace management. Though this career is productive and kept him busy, it wasn’t enough to satisfy the creative force within him and, he strongly suspects, in everyone else as well. He says that any moment that he did not devote to family he invested in pursuing his passion for photography. He took classes, read about it, and spent thousands of hours critiquing and taking shots in order to hone his skills. Things worked so well until he was able to produce high quality images. A timely opportunity for early retirement arose and now he’s able to travel to every corner of the globe with his cameras in hand. He records what he sees and experiences on film. His editorial and travel portfolio includes many countries, but he says his specialty is China, because this is where he spent a month every year photographing the big growth that country is experiencing. Crust produces his art in a variety of finishing options including framed Charles Crust art, which are the most preferred option by many purchasers. Slightly more than a decade ago, he was taking shots of people on bicycles. He still likes to take those pictures, but now he has to be careful not to be mowed down by the many electric scooters zooming along every street. While Crust certainly enjoyed his working years, he smiles at the irony that he was actually spending his professional time preparing for his real life's work – photography.
