Jennifer Carson was born in Ann Arbor, MI. She’s always been a dreamer and the characters in her imagination longed to be created. She received a full scholarship to Washtenaw Community College while she was a senior in high school, and knowing that an education was costly, and being a young graduate (17 years old), she accepted the scholarship and put off going to art school. When she turned 19, she had her first son with her high-school sweetheart, and at 20 they were married. This forced her to put off any plans for art school. In the next 7 years, 3 more children were added to their brood, and her desire to create something other than children had been growing and growing, until she could think of nothing else. She began painting murals in children’s rooms, starting with her own. Then she wanted to create the bedding, so she learnt to sew—something she had fought her mom tooth and nail over as a teenager. Today she lives in New Hampshire with her husband. Jennifer creates characters and creatures that are fantastic and she publishes the sewing patterns on her own. Her patterns and artwork can be seen online at thedragoncharmer.com, and framed Jennifer Carson art are available in many outlets all over the world. She has published work of fiction including Hapenny Magick, among others. Her art has been featured in many publications and national magazines like Soft Dolls and Animals, Faerie Magazine, Dolls United and Teddy Bear and Friends.
