Ruth Bush Art

Ruth Bush’s desire to be an artist stemmed from her childhood, with memories of playing with colored pencils with her twin sister at her grandparents’ house. She studied at Kutztown University in the center of Pennsylvania Dutch country and obtained an advertising art degree. After her graduation, she worked as a designer in the corporate art departments of Blue Cross and Bank of America, and then as a package and toy designer for Hasbro Toys in New England. She then decided to relocate to the southwest, where she enjoyed creating souvenir products with her husband, including books and posters, and was pleased to hear from customers entering their store that they had souvenirs belonging to the “Disneyland.” botanical illustrations for the Rodale Press, renderings for the EPA, computer packaging, architectural renderings and medical illustration kept her busy for several years until she decided to pursue designing, painting pieces for an art studio catering to the high-end furniture industry. She spent six years in Las Vegas working closely with hotel and casino industry as well as the interior designers in the residential industry. She currently resides in her quaint home town of Lehighton where she continues to design pieces for the hospitality market, and the home décor and gift market. She most known for her tapestry style images, rendered in acrylic on canvas, and for the framed Ruth Bush art that are hanging on the walls of some of the most prestigious spaces in the world. In the course of her work, she learnt that to meet the varying demands for different taste, there was a great deal of importance in painting in a variety of styles.
