Janet Bothne was born in Dedham, Massachusetts. She loved art since her childhood and her goal has been to transfer that life onto the canvases she creates. She has focused on artwork all her life. She says that she has watched other artists jump happily from one discipline to another but she’s still infected, still entranced, still focused on art. She went ahead to study art in various institutions including the University of MA, and in several other institutions of higher learning. After graduation, she immersed herself fully into art. A gallery owner once told her that she was “having a love affair with paint.” This is because she spent so many days immersed in paint— under her nails, on her skin, on her clothes. But Janet asserts that she’s not having an affair—paint is her true love! Janet has had numerous solo exhibitions including those at the Bank of America Building – Albuquerque, UNM Popejoy Hall – Albuquerque, Back Street Bistro – Santa Fe, Palette Contemporary Gallery – Albuquerque, Maison Décor Gallery– Provincetown, Petrossian Boutique – W. Hollywood, Art Expo –Miami, FL, UBM Canon – Santa Monica, to name just a few. She has also participated in group exhibitions at Jeanie Madsen Gallery, Santa Monica, Artamo Gallery – Santa Barbara, and Santa Monica Museum of Art, among other places. These exhibitions have made her art to be very popular, more so the framed Janet Bothne art. Her art is in the collection of Charles Schwab, Architectural Arts Co., Business.Com, E & S Ring Co., Instinct Creative, Advanced Arm Dynamics, Overbrook Entertainment, Lowe Enterprises, Griffin Capital, etc.
