Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450 – 9 August 1516) was a Dutch painter who was born Jheronimus van Aken and is famous for his detailed representation of landscapes and figures through his creative works. His art pieces include several illustrations that touch on religious topics. A short while after he started creating art, Bosch’s works had been collected in diverse global locations, including Austria, Spain, and the Netherlands. His representations of hell are some of his artwork pieces that have been widely copied and reproduced by several artists. Bosch’s artistic angle has been a challenge to art experts to give modern interpretations. A critical look into his artistic pieces shows someone who's got an in depth understanding of man and some of his far reaching fears and desires. He's got several surviving paintings, most of which are oil paintings with glazed finish.
Bosch is known to have created not less than 16 triptychs, with only 8 available in their full form. Of all his triptychs, "The Garden of Earthly Delights" remains his most fabled. Bosch’s artistic style broke from the traditional approach that was characterized with the addition of diverse transparent glazes specifically to cover up the brushwork. Instead, he chose to use a sketchy approach that showed his brushwork. Bosch’s works weren’t dated, but he did well to sign quite a number of them. Less than 25 of his works remain today, but the exact number remains a debate. His originals and reproductions are collected in diverse locations, with several of them available in galleries. Hieronymus Bosch framed art are also widely sold in art dealerships and galleries.
