Maija Baynes is a painter known for her award winning oil paintings. She was born in Hameenlinna, Finland, but she later moved to the U.S. at the age of 7, together with her family, spending all her childhood life Atlanta, Georgia. In 1964, she completed her studies at the University of Georgia before proceeding to the Connecticut-based Pailer School of Art as well as to the University of South Florida. After completing her studies, she went into teaching remedial classes within the Florida schools fraternity before she landed a job at the NeedleBug Company of Virginia where she became a needlepoint canvases designer. Maija’s experiences with different companies and her own commitment to creating own work made it easier for her to create art of high quality and depth. As a result, she's exhibited her artwork for more than 26 years.
Maija’s awards and invitations to participate in many arts events have inspired her to continue creating art and embracing new working methods. She creates art in oil paints, although she's also extensively knowledgeable in watercolor. Her artistic works have been accepted in different global platforms and collections. Because of their quality and artistry, she's won more than 100 awards since she started professionally creating art. 1986 saw her find a slot as a member of the National Watercolor Society, a highly reputable institution. Maija Baynes framed art prints remain great options for interior decoration as they come ready for hanging. In several cases, customers are allowed to choose their desired finishing options.
