Ron Bayens (Born in 1965) began painting and drawing at an early age and by 4th grade, his talent was so apparent that his teachers organized some time for him away from his regular studies to encourage him to develop his skills which were already remarkable. In 1988, he graduated from Ontario College of Art, but was unsatisfied by their modern approach to painting. So, Bayens decided to study the techniques of the Old Masters under Michael John Angel, a noted portraitist. Through many years of dedication and hard work to perfecting his craft, he developed a distinctive realistic style. The style is so unique such that it has been the subject of a feature article in Art Impressions magazine. Today, Bayens boasts hundreds of satisfied clients, who have helped to spread word about his art very fast. It’s therefore not a surprise that farmed Ron Bayens art and portraits hang in many leading Museums, Universities, private homes and hospitals. He is now regarded as one of the leading artists in the country. Among his long list of credits are numerous art awards, including those from The Salvation Army and from The Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Bayens realized that children were his favorite subject during his apprenticeship, and he has distinguished himself in the art world for his insightful and warm portrayal of children. He likes to strain out the wonderful moments; he likes a sense of peace and optimism... with a healthy dose of innocence. Technology has become an important tool for his work — he uses a digital camera, a scanner, and a custom built PC. However, he assures his clients that his portraiture continues to be the oil on canvas he has always loved.
