Shelly Bartek Art

Shelly Bartek is an internationally recognized illustrator and a fine artist. She got involved in art while she was still very young. She is interested in story telling, exploring personal expression, and symbolism. She is currently working on a series of landscape paintings in oil and gold leaf on wood and canvas. Bartek has more that twenty years experience in painting and has earned both national and international recognition. More than fifty prestigious international clients have contracted her and she has completed projects for them. Some of these clients include Coors Brewery, American Airlines, Barton & Guestier French Winery, A T & T, Paramount Pictures, Wall Street and Kraft. In 2006, Bartek received a commission from the United Nations for its International Collective Stamp series. Her work is the expression of how she connects with nature and an interpretation of her journey. She strives to blend a poetic mix of gold leaf and pigments, transforming light on canvas as she sees it reflect the landscape. Her purpose is to bring joy and create a window for the viewer's wall. Bartek's talent was recognized when she was 17 years old. She was awarded a scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas, the First Place National Scholastic Award. Bartek attended the Red Ink Studios in San Jose, and studied independently with some famous artists. Most recently, she studied with the director of the Prosopon School of Iconography, Vladislav Andrejev.
