Art & Ghosts was founded by Louise Robinson, an artist from the North of the UK in a small town close to the city of Manchester. Louse holds a diploma in photography, a foundation in art and a BA Honors in Visual Arts. She used to make short films that were inspired by the stories that constantly grew inside of her head. However, she found herself distracted somewhere along the way and decided to try her hands on collage, from collage she tried painting, and then finally settled into the realms of digital art. Louise often does not plan a project before tumbling straight into it. Her approach differs depending upon the media used, although she seems to have a predilection for works which feature color as the most vital element, simplified themes, and also works that have a deep relationship to her dreams and the unconscious. These appear to be her essentials. Louise is more inspired by the work of musicians and by writers of fiction than actual visual artists, yet the designers and artists who she feels to be inspired by the most possibly aren't immediately evident in her own work: Leonora Carrington, Paula Rego, and many modern illustrators such as Olle Eksell, as are the Pre-Raphaelites are major influences. She is also continuously inspired by the works of her own contemporaries, particularly those connected to me via the blogging circuit and Flickr. Other major influences are derived from mythology, fairy tales, folk art, the animator Jan Svankmajer, the stories of Angela Carter, 19th Century ghost stories, her own childhood, the photography of Lewis Carroll, and issues relating to memory. Framed Art & Ghosts art are currently found with many collectors worldwide.
