By splattering and pouring spray paint, ink and paint, Lina Alattar welcomes the unpredictable coincidences as she constructs them into a perfectly balanced composition. She uses an improvisation of linear qualities, space, and color in such a way that they interact with each other to create perfect harmony. This act of control and allowing helps her in developing surface and imagery. Lina finds structure amidst the chaos, knowing very well how, in their own right, these accidents are inventions. She draws from her varied life occurrences to investigate concepts that deal with evolving identity. She also draws for the places where she has lived. In fact by the age of 12, she had already lived on 3 continents, and her work explores belonging, rootlessness, our shared human experience and identity. She uses color and brushstrokes in a way that creates an atmospheric landscape paying homage to Abstract Expressionism. She’s committed to the working process so that the final product can engage the viewer to appreciate the product’s intriguing, meditative, and sensual qualities. Many who have purchased her art appreciate the fact that her art is not only perfect for decoration but they are also great for inspiration. In fact many upcoming artists are looking upon her for their inspiration.
