The Dutch born painter came from two art dealer parents and travelled around Europe and the UK during his early years. He first began drawing in 1883 in Nuenen where he would pay boys to bring him bird’s nests for him to use as the subject matter for his artwork.
Van Gough painted many pictures of weavers in their cottages during his time in Paris and eventually started doing still life portraits including his Still Life with Straw Hat and Pipe and Still Life with Earthen Pot and Clogs. He later worked in Paris and painted his framed acacia art print Acacia in Flowe.
Barcelona-born artist Poch Romeu is another well-known artist of framed acacia art. He began painting at the age of eleven. He eventually enrolled in college, and studied life drawing and painting. Poch studied under painter Ferrer Guasch, a man well-known teacher in the mid 20th century. Poch gained an artistic outlook from the lessons, which advanced his career. His portrait Acacia became one of his most popular pieces.
