Framed Sneakers Artwork
A common school memory for many people is what kinds of shoes they used to wear as a kid. In school, the students don't wear leather business shoes or anything too formal; instead they wear ballet flats, sneakers, high-tops, low tops, combat boots, flip-flops, and much more. The framed sneakers art shown in the following paintings now doubt will bring some of you right back to middle school.
Have you ever had to wash and dry your sneakers? Elena Galimberti pictures two sneakers in “Stendimi” with the American flag printed on them, lazily drying on a clothesline in her framed sneakers art. One shoe is sagging in the wind, its laces dangling as they wait for their owner to tie them up again, while the other shoe is slightly higher. What happened to those shoes? They could have gotten muddy for the owner's mother to have to wash them. They could have been involved in a camping trip. Shoes have many stories to tell.
The framed painting of sneakers “Wildchild High Tops” by Kathy Middlebrook is a pair of zebra-striped baby sneakers that are tied with a pink ribbon. The colours are in pastels, very soft, just like a baby. The shoes themselves are cute like a baby.
“Wherever You Go” by Andrea Haase is a framed piece of sneakers art which has a pair of photo-edited sneakers with the saying, “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” It's a simple reminder to make every journey have meaning.
