Framed Digital Photo Prints
As you read this you should pause. Look around you. It’s pretty certain that wherever you’re sitting, somewhere on one of the walls that surround you is a piece of framed digital photography on canvas. Sitting there, you could look up and see a picture of the famous Route 66 sign hanging on the wall or a large print of Time Square opening up a window into downtown New York.
But not all framed digital photography wall art open up windows into existing landscapes. Other pieces, such as those by G.I Art Lab, manipulate existing photographs into fantastical original art works. In their piece Tiger on the Prowl, G.I Art Lab fuses the head of a tiger with a man’s body. In the background, a lamplit stretch of city bars; the wild jungle cat amalgamated with the wild urban man.
Famous scenes from our cultural histories are often depicted. Robert Michaels’s Old Blue Harley on Route 66 inspires memories of the American 1950s. From the blue Harley that sits in the foreground to the famous Route 66 diner in the background, the framed digital photography evokes the nostalgic era of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Apple Pie and much more.
Couple, by Moses Levy, allows your mind to drift into the picture along an overcast coastline. Two bicycles lay abandoned on the beach, generating a feeling of absence within this piece of framed digital photography. The otherwise beautiful setting- a bike ride along the coast- contrasted with the grey tones, contributes to the viewer’s feelings of pathos.
