Framed 19th Century Artwork
What a wonderful selection of artists the 19th century provided the world. Framed 19th century art can appease a mighty portion of the art loving world with the variety it has to offer. Some of the most famous artists arose out of the time period; those that everyone knows by name even if they are not lovers of art.
Claude Monet was the true founder of French impressionism painting and was met with a good deal of resistance at first. This is a name that is known around the world and replicas of his paintings are seen in a variety of places; not just in homes. Some of his most famous framed 19th century works include; “Sunflowers” in 1881, “Willows of Vetheuil”, “Corn Poppies,” and “Water Lilies.”
Another famous impressionist painter from this period is Van Gogh and his framed 19th century paintings are seen as often as Monet’s. Some of his well-known pieces are “A Starry Night”, “Wheatfield with Crows” in 1890, “Sunflowers on Blue” in 1888, and “Irises in a Vase”.
It is hard to believe that Edvard Munch the painter of the famous “The Scream” from 1893 is the same artist that painted “Dancer”. There is so much of a difference in the essence of both paintings and how the make the beholder feel. It is overwhelming to look back over the works from this period and really learn how much just two men contributed.
