Framed 18th Century Paintings
The 18th century brought forward some works of art and artists that are still loved today. Framed replicas of the 18th Century art are always popular among art lovers young and old. This type of art can really bring together a room that has antique decor.
A painting like “Madame Recamier” or “The Portrait of Maria Teresa” can really put the finishing touches on a room.
“Jacob’s Ladder” by William Blake is a framed 18th Century piece that is still popular amongst lovers of historic religious art. The picture is a representation of the staircase leading to Heaven as described in the book of Genesis. Blake is also responsible for such works as “The Tyger” and “A Poison Tree”.
In 1730, Robert Furber did a series of flower arrangements or bouquets if you will for each month of the year. There are some great historical figures that were immortalized in 18th century art and some of them include; George Washington painted by Gilbert Stuart and Napoleon Bonaparte painted by Jacques-Louis David. John Trumbull was the artist that painted a great piece of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. J.M.W. Turner was one of the first romanticism painters during this period as well as one of the first abstract painters.
