Framed Rosette Prints
FramedArt.com has diligently worked to set up an amazing collection of Framed Rosette Art dedicated to a stylized flower design that was invented more than 2000 years ago. Popular in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, it transcended time and for many centuries it captivated both Europeans and Asian civilizations. The artwork changed a lot over the course of time, but the core concepts stay the same and the multiple modifications can be admired in art prints.
Framed Rosette Art include the designs used for sculptural objects in antiquity, especially ancient Greece where they were found virtually everywhere. Their success was remarkable and not surprisingly they were readopted centuries later in the Renaissance. Painters and sculptures were equally fascinated by these simple designs and chose to incorporate them in their artwork. Small enough as to go unnoticed, they stand out from the crowd at a closer inspection and they linger for a long time in memory.
Contrary to popular belief, rosette is not a flower design specific to European cultures and can be found in several buildings in central Asia. Framed Rosette Art even includes designs specific to India where Buddhist art used it extensively for both official structures in private residences. The flower motive was carved in wood or stone and the ultimate goal was to create decorative ornaments of great beauty. They were also much appreciated when used for jewelry designs and metalworking, and on some occasions, they proved to be suitable for military awards as well.
