Framed Triceratops Prints
The triceratops is a dinosaur that has captured the imaginations of many people, especially children. This makes framed triceratops art a unique choice to evoke imaginative feelings in the viewer. Although we can only approximate what the triceratops actually looked like, this has not stopped many artists from trying in their work.
One approach to framed triceratops art paintings is to portray the animal going about its normal activities in its usual habitat. This can be seen in pieces such as Kostyantyn Ivanyshen’s “Triceratops Walking in a Tropical Environment 3,” which shows a solitary triceratops walking across sandy terrain, possibly a beach, lined with palm trees. Ivanyshen’s “Triceratops Walking in Open Field” deals with similar subject matter, but this time on a lush green field.
Other framed triceratops art pictures portray the triceratops in combat against other dinosaurs, usually the tyrannosaurus rex. “Prehistoric Battle Between a Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex” by Mark Stevenson uses this imagery with the triceratops crouched in a defensive posture and the tyrannosaurus rex with a wide open mouth, displaying its large, sharp teeth. “Triceratops with Tyrannosaurus” portrays similar subject matter, but this work is done in a monochromatic sketch style instead of a painting.
Sometimes the triceratops will be the sole subject of a piece, usually in a way to emphasize some of the animal’s features. GI ArtLab’s “Triceratops Elatus” shows a drawing of the skeleton of a triceratops. “Triceratops” by June Erica Vess uses bright colors and a cartoon drawing style to highlight the unique shape of the triceratops.
