Lion Framed Art

The lion is the second-largest feline, second only to the tiger and inhabits most of the sub-Saharan Africa, but a few specimens still live in South Eastern Asia. Back in the day, they used to inhabit North Africa as well, but due to hunting and the steady decrease of their habitat, they became extinct in all these parts. Today, they are in danger of extinction worldwide and unfortunately it is virtually impossible to sustain lion populations outside national parks and reservations.

Framed Lion Art celebrates their strength but also their majestic look, featuring lions hunting, but also resting in the shade. While the lionesses are the ones that usually hunt, lions get active during mating time when they fight their rivals. This is one of the leading causes of severe injuries and that’s why lions live twice as long in captivity than in the wild. The grassland and savanna is their home, although they can survive in other areas, such as forests and bush lands.
