Framed Saturn Artwork
Saturn is the sixth planet away from the sun, and the second by size in our Solar System. It is named after a Roman god of agriculture and it is nine times larger than Earth. Its structure points that it is mostly consisted out of gasses, specifically hydrogen and helium. The first civilization to record the existence of this planet was the Assyrian civilization and it was recorded in 8th century B.C.
The rings of Saturn are its most impressive representation. The rings consist of water in ice form and some rocks. The first scientist that observed the rings of Saturn was Galileo Galilei, and he researched them in 1610 by using his telescope.
The rings of Saturn extend from 7.000 km to 80.000 km away from the planet and even though they are massive and can be seen from space, they can sometimes align towards Earth and become invisible to the observers from our planet. Also, the time this planet needs to travel a full circle around the sun is 29.4 years. There are sixty-two moons that are orbiting around this planet at all times. One of those moons is Titan that is the second by size moon in our entire Solar System.
