Framed Pantheon Artwork

An iconic building of ancient Rome, the Pantheon was erected at the turn of the millennium and just as the name suggests it was dedicated to all gods. It was Emperor Augustus that ordered the building of the structure, but it is was not completed under his rule and only reached its current form under Emperor Hadrian. Unlike other buildings in ancient Rome, it is well preserved and FramedArt.com can provide visitors with a glimpse into the past through its assortment of Framed Pantheon Art.
Framed Pantheon Art pays the same attention to the exterior and the interior, with the circular building having a rectangular vestibule and a concrete dome. The elements that make it easily recognizable are the 16 Corinthian columns, disposed into two rows but also its impressive dome. Made of concrete it is the largest in the world that is not reinforced, yet it is still standing and the passage of time left its mark on it without affecting the structure.

Back in the day, it was dedicated to the ancient Roman gods, but more recently it served as a church while being commonly referred to as the Santa Maria Rotonda. This is the name under which it appears in Framed Pantheon Art, hardly a surprise given the fact that it was dedicated to St. Mary. Since the Renaissance, the building also served as a tomb and some of the most representative Italian painters, composers and sculptures were buried here.
