Framed Lake Como Artwork
Lake Como is a famous Italian lake. It is characterized by sapphire-blue waters, tall mountains, and clear air. It has a seaside village and is a popular boating site as well. Many artists have enjoyed portraying its beauty in framed Lake Como art.
A very peaceful framed painting of Lake Como is “Reflections of Lake Como” by Howard Behrens. There is the front view of the seaside village, with the mountains far away in the background. The village is put into a triangular shape, which is contrasted by a box-shape for the mountains. The eye follows the triangular shape of the hill down to the village, where it then studies each building. There is a church, and many residences. The reflections in the water show how untouched the land is.
An older framed picture of Lake Como is “ Villa Melzie, Como, Italy” by Ebenezer Wake Cook. It appears to date to around the 1800's, based on its colours and art style. It is a view from a concrete terrace, showing the lake from the residents' point of view, instead of at a distance from the lake. The weather is calm, having a bright white sky without a single cloud. The terrace is empty, making it perfect for meditation. The overall view captures the best part of the city: absolute peace.
A gouache painting is “White Sail Boat, Como” by Ted Goerschner. This painting has two focal points: A large white house, and a smaller white sailboat. There are other smaller houses as well. The eye begins with the house, moves to the boat, and travels to the endpoint, which are the smallest houses. The boat appears to be moving through clever illusion.
