Framed Half Dome Art
Next to the El Capitan, the Half Dome is one of the most visited rock formations in the Yosemite national Park. The granite rock is located at the eastern end of the valley and it is easy to recognize even by those who have no experience in rock climbing. It towers high above the valley, with a height of more than 4700 feet and it is one of the most photographed granite monoliths in the world. Not surprisingly, FramedArt.com has its own assembly of Framed Half Dome Art including high-resolution photos.
A quick glance at the Framed Half Dome Art will make it easy to understand why by the second half of the 19th century, the dome was considered to be perfectly inaccessible. Despite the warnings against trying to escalate the row, they were many daredevils who put their luck and skill to the test. The first to reach the summit was George Anderson in 1875 with hundreds of climbers following his track or finding other ways of making it to the top.
There is no shortage of Framed Half Dome Art having the impressive rock structure in the background and some great images feature people trying to reach the summit. Regular hikers can nowadays reach the top with relative ease by simply going up granite stairs and steel cables that have been in place for almost a century. The final stage is the most difficult one, but thanks to the steel cables that can be used as handholds, anyone who is in good physical condition can make it to the top.
