Framed Capri Posters
Clear blue skies and clear blue water. Tall rock formations rising from the water. Long rock faces from the cliffs, covered in greenery. That is Capri, a famous beach spot in Italy. Many people go there to enjoy walking on the beach, swimming, or boating. It is the subject of many a framed Capri art.
The framed Capri painting of “Capri Vista II” by Peter Bell is a twilit view of the ancient city during a cloudy day. The buildings in the background could be medieval. On the water are boats. In the foreground are potted plants and flowering shrubs and spear like points of trees. The entire painting has a blue cast to it, giving it an appearance of cool, slightly humid weather. Its atmosphere is inviting to the viewer, like it is saying, “come swim with us!”.
A second inviting framed painting of Capri is “ Capri II” by Alex Hook Krioutchkov. This one shows the rock formations in the water, resting against a cool blue sea, dotted by white boats. The boats are in a line, along the coast, and appear to be racing. The materials are gouache, giving it a graphic appearance, like an old travel poster. Its colours are saturated and vibrant, which makes it feel like a hot, sunny day.
“Hotel Capri” by Unknown is like a Surrealist piece of art: it is the black-and-white interior of a hotel, which uses a series of lights so the viewer's eye can follow down to the chairs, and then to the suitcases in front. The black-and-white makes it feel unreal, like the viewer is in another world. The black frame around the drawing makes it feel Claus trophic, while still drawing the viewer in.
