Framed Malcolm X Art

Malcolm X was actually born Malcolm but he became the X character through his ministry for African American rights as well as his leadership in the Islamic religion. He is a notable person in America’s history and still studied to this day. Framed Malcolm X art can be informative, it gives us a chance to learn about this notable man who forms an integral part of American history.

Framed Malcolm X posters usually capture the man in either a pensive moment deep in thought, in a serious stare that confronts the observer, or candidly from his speeches, though still severe here too. The two most notable images are probably a face-on sombre stare with his head resting on his closed hand, except for his index finger, which sits parallel to his face, the point of his finger adjacent to his eye.
The other most notable framed Malcolm X print is probably from his speech at Ford Auditorium in 1965. A candid shot that captured Malcolm mid sentence but the power of the image is in his hand which dominates the foreground of the image his hand raised and his index finger pointing up and away, the emphasis on the point he is making.

Possibly the most effective of framed Malcolm X artwork is in the simplest of designs. While many are just black and white reproductions of original images, some go even simpler than this, with basic typography. Simply just the ‘X’ in a serif font entitled “Malcolm X” but without the word Malcolm even written is enough to portray this man and his story.
