Will Ferrell wrote the script and stared in the Anchorman movie, a film released in 2004 and focusing on the events of the 70's. The complete title of the film is Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

The comedy film generated a lot of money and it was just as successful abroad, with the producers finding it worthwhile to even release a movie made exclusively from outtakes.
