Framed Marine Art
Few aspects of American culture inspire as much instant and profound sensations of pride and admiration as that of the United States military. Some of history’s most inspiring images have come from the armed forces branches, and not least of all is the Marines. As a result, one can only imagine how powerful the imagery of framed marine posters must be. Thankfully, there are a number of fine examples in this particular genre to choose from.
Some of the finest examples of framed marine wall posters come from old photographs, and are motivational either on their own or framed with motivational quotes and tags. For example, the iconic “Flag Raising on Iwo Jima, February 23, 1945” by Joe Rosenthal is already one of the most enduring images in history. When paired with a tagline to create “Fortitude – Iwo Jima,” it offers a new take on an old standby.
Old advertisements for military branches, such as the marines, are also often repurposed as art in the form of framed marine poster art. “Uphold Our Honor,” in which the American personification known in art as Columbia charges the men and women of the country with joining the armed forces, offers a look into history while also serving a quaint aesthetic purpose.
The vehicles that are synonymous with the Marines also make great artistic subjects. Planes such as the “V-22 Osprey United States Marine Corps”, when photographed, are works of art in their own right. And the intensely patriotic feeling they evoke in viewers is only one of the many appeals of framed marine posters.
