Framed Colorful World Maps
The act of cartography has been carried out for centuries, and has enlightened the world. Adventurers such as Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus and Abel J. Tasman carved out their own pieces of unchartered territory. They all kept account of their adventures through the development of maps to share with the world.
As beautiful as these maps have been made by antiquity; there are many contemporary artists who have applied their own modern, equally satisfying adornments to world-maps to cast light on the daring vigour that was exerted by those memorable pioneers. Akin to the work of the ancient sea-farers, 21st century artists like to convey their work to the viewer by using framed colourful world maps.
Artists such as Sara Zieve Miller, with her piece “Get out and See the World”, utilises ancient cartographical framed wall art techniques to modestly persuade the observer that the world is a fantastic and magical place that is well worth the tenacity it takes to be explored.
Framed colourful world maps artists such as Cynthia Coulter use especially authentic images to exemplify the maps of old times, in her piece “Old World Journey”. Other artists such as Tandi Venter and Michael Mullan use traditional maps but like to add their own modern, artistic disposition by using a mixture of different colours. Their work is equally amazing. Each piece, whether an attempt at authenticity or modernity, has it’s own unique way of expressing the natural human urge to explore.
