Frederick W. Watts (Born 1800) was a landscape painter from England. He has always been known as "William Frederick Watts", "Frederick Waters Watts", "Frederic William Watts", or "William Watts." The information about this painter is very scarce and this casts uncertainty over his training, parentage, and even date of death. He’s thought to have been born in Bath on 7th October 1800 and baptized as William Watts in 1801 in St. Albans. There’s also some uncertainty over his death with some saying he died in 1860. But according to the ODNB, he died in July 1870 at his home in Hampstead. He died of complications caused by Diabetes. Watts painted landscapes throughout Sussex, south and north Wales, Wales and England, Devon, Derbyshire, and visited Isle of Wight, and, of course, Essex and Suffolk. Watts lived in London, Hampstead, for much of his life and painted landscapes, on site all over Britain. He had a preference for river scenes and many believed he was strongly influenced by Constable John. Watts moved down the hill to Camden Town in 1830 and finally to Haverstock Hill. In 1817, it is most likely that he enrolled as William Watts in the RA Schools and subsequently changed his name to Frederick William Watts. His art was collected throughout the 20th century in North America, Europe and Britain. He has an interesting history and this has made his art to be well known. In fact framed Frederick W.
