Born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario, Karin Johannesson has been painting and drawing all her life. She’s happy that her studio allows her the freedom and flexibility to paint whenever she has a free moment. Her day involves great measures in multi-tasking and time management. Karin is a self-trained artist who’s guided by instinct and she uses mediums in unconventional and bold ways. Her preferred medium is watercolor. She’s very comfortable working in this medium because of its ease of use and versatility. Karin is happy about the renewed popularity of watercolor in today’s art world. She loves to paint in many styles, for the most part in watercolor and also in acrylic ink. Karin’s process is intuitive and spontaneous and she likes to work quickly so as to complete her paintings in one or two sittings.
