He says that in the field and in the hospital, he must accept that there are many factors that are out of his control. Since 1972, Garber has lived in Salt Lake City. His interest in photography began in 1969 while attending a “History of Photography” class at the University of Rochester. Garber remained an amateur for several years. His first trip outside North America came when he was 39 years old. That is when he traveled to Nepal where he shot 40 rolls of film. After developing the films he realized that he had a calling to be a photographer. Since then, photography took a center stage in his life. He became a professional nature and fine art photographer.
