Caroline Gold (Born 1955) is an artist who started out with a career in film and television, following his training at the Chelsea College of Art. She also earned a postgraduate degree in European Film studies. Caroline worked for several years as an illustrator for reputable U.K. companies before switching from commissioned art to creating her own art. This was mainly triggered by her desire to capture the effects of light on the fragility of a specific landscape feature close to a studio in Suffolk where she worked. Caroline takes two approaches that include drawing and painting. Her drawings are mainly realistic while she takes a semi abstract approach in her paintings. Her realist approach involves capturing finer details of her subjects, making them look like their real world counterparts. In her abstract paintings, Caroline uses a mix of colors, although she takes a minimalistic and a sparing use of colors so as to capture only the essence of her subjects.
According to her, she finds both methods to share in elements, having some level of influence on how either is made. Caroline’s main medium is oil and her base support is canvas. The quality of her artistic pieces and her subjects has seen her art exhibited in numerous galleries in the U.K. and several other global locations.
