Lisa Fertig lives in Arden Hills, Minnesota with her three children and her husband. She’s an artist who paints in two distinct styles: abstract and representational, which at first may appear incompatible, but are practically two aspects of the same journey. She works in oils, acrylics, and watercolor and has produced a considerable body of work in a variety of categories including abstracts, still lifes, and landscapes. As she paints, the artist re-experiences and recalls the freedom and peace of the open air as well as the captivating and spectacular qualities of the great outdoors. She’s centered in her life and is inspired by this meditative act of creating art about real places. The desire to create has been instilled in her since early childhood. Lisa was brought up in Duluth, Minnesota where she learned to appreciate the changing of seasons and the beauty of nature. No matter what or how she paints, and no matter where the inspiration comes from, the destination remains the same. Lisa is able to achieve relative moments of peace, of completeness, and of closure. Most importantly, her art affirms her belief in the oneness of mind, body and the world. Framed Lisa Fertig art are stocked by many collectors globally. Lisa received her formal Fine Arts training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois. After that, she furthered studies at Atelier Lack in Minneapolis, Minnesota and at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She has received awards in competitions and her art is shown in galleries throughout the Minnesota area.
