Evelia Designs was founded by Evelia (Garcia) Sowash. Evelia loved art from a tender age and has always identified herself as an artist. She was raised in the Miami Valley and many people around her noticed her talent and urged her to consider taking art as her lifetime career. She began working in art while still a small girl and at a tender age 11 years, she was awarded a scholarship to attend adult art classes in Dayton Art Institute. When she came of age she decided to follow her dream of becoming a full time artist. She joined The American Academy of Art in Chicago from where she obtained her bachelors degree. She embarked on a commercial art career after her graduation. She founded Evelia Designs through which she creates artwork that many organizations have licensed and are sold throughout the world, mainly as framed Evelia Designs art. She produces modern and unique artwork that not only satisfies the needs of her clients but also inspires them. Many upcoming artists look upon Evelia for their inspiration. And many companies purchase her colorful collections to elevate their products to the next level. In the course of her work, she has produced quite a number of pieces of art. Her work for Antioch Publishing appeared on journals, bookmarks and other related items. Her pieces of art have appeared on products sold successfully at: Papyrus, Home Goods, Barnes & Noble, Ace Hardware, JoAnn Fabrics, Ross, Target, Pier One Imports, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, Zazzle.com and TJMaxx.
