Elena Duvernay (Born 1971) was born in Geneva, Switzerland where she still lives to date – though she’s not fond of the Swiss weather. As far as she remembers, she has always been drawing. Even at school, Elena always loved drawing classes and she used to compete with the best student just for fun. But slowly, pencils, especially the grey ones, became her favorite tool for drawing and she decided to specialize in portraits after having been advised by a friend who studied at the Art School. Early she began traveling with her parents and it very much influenced her artwork and liked it very much. Elena is very careful to capture, the best as she can, the character, personality and even soul to let it emerge from her drawings. She now travels around the world for a few years capturing those memorable moments and scenes. Her artistic skills are in photography (urban, nature and wildlife) and in 3 Dimensional digital illustrations. Elena started photography and 3 Dimensional arts by herself about 10 years ago. She’s self-taught and is still improving her skills everyday, as she never bothers learning. She started photography with argentic camera and says that creating image was her real passion. She’s now an illustrator, photographer, drawer and sculptor. Having worked a long time in the scientific field and after having studied a lot at the university, she decided to devote herself more to artistic creation, as she loves it.
