Andrea Davis was always a bit artistic from an early age. She is inspired by what she observes and by her own life experiences. Her more individualistic style is considered her best. Her artworks are profound in tonalities, simple in outline, and well-balanced in composition. She is a self taught artist and has lived and travelled all over the world. Andrea is a versatile artist who is mostly passionate about color. She has always been mesmerized by color. Her world is light and full of happy surprises. She has spent several years in Southeast Asia as a military wife. Having settled in the Dallas, Texas area, she loves putting her experiences and memories into her work using acrylic, ink paint, plaster, paper and metal.
Andrea has always felt the need to vary her subject matter; she believes this variety keeps her prints, art and posters fresh and adds to their collectability. In 2013, her family suffered a catastrophic house fire where they lost everything, including many of her original works and her studio. It took her up to two years to rebuild her home and her family, and after a period of personal growth and deep reflection, she begun to reestablish her studio and has been creating exciting and new work, including altered mirrors and flow paintings.
She now lives in Sydney, Australia and her work takes her around the world. Her commissions are wide and varied, from backdrops, sets, trompe l'oeil, buses, bikes, boats, CD covers etc. She enjoys exploring her creativity and learning new techniques.
