Carlos Casamayor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Advertising. After his graduation in 1980, he worked as Art Director in advertising agencies for more than 20m years, and later as a Creative Director. Casamayor started his own advertising agency in Madrid and worked as Creative Manager until 1999 when he went to America. He has been living in the United States since 2003 and says he loves the Country. Casamayor works as an art director and freelancer graphic designer in Los Angeles County and also work in art as a muralist and Faux Finisher. This means he’s always in contact with the art on daily basis. Casamayor loves photography and he has loved it for many years, perhaps a legacy from Miguel, his grandfather who was an excellent photographer. He says that every image he produces is a tribute to the distinctiveness of the places he has visited, and they mirror a high regard for the history, symbolism or beauty in each location. He had always been comfortable working with many techniques and mediums: oils, pastels, photography, and acrylics. In 1991, he began working with computers and he was able to join together advancing technology with his artistic skills to produce his art in his minimalist style using symmetric layouts, wide-open spaces, and very conceptual art.
